About the Ship
Berthed at Port of Rochester, the Harbor Town Belle was designed and built on the banks of the Genesee River. The Harbor Town Belle harkens back to simpler times when her sister riverboats plied the greatest American waterway, the Mississippi over a century ago.
The Belle, during construction, received a rigorous monthly Coast Guard inspection to insure all construction was according to ABS (American Bureau Shipping Standards). Stability tests are a requirement under these standards, which were completed before it began operation in August of 1998.
|
The vessel now receives an annual Coast Guard inspection, meeting qualifications that are much more thorough than any current New York State requirements. |
